About me
Hello! I'm Nicolas Horn, I'm a Systems Engineer graduate (similar to a CS degree), born in Buenos Aires, and I'm 26 years old. I have a dog named Zeus. I'm currently specializing in computer networks and machine learning. I've been a sofware engineer for quite a while now, but I also worked as a wedding photographer, video editor, barista and restaurant manager. As a hobby, I got into game developing recently.
Work experience
Present
University Teacher
Still working as teacher at River Plate Adventist University for the Fundamentals of Programming course and now adding two more courses, Software Engineering I and Software Engineering II, for the Systems Engineering graduate degree.
Software Engineer at pqlub
Kept working on the River Plate Adventist University project. It's a big project, it needs to support at least 3000 users (not simultaneously) given that every student, professor and event external personnel must be able to access the system. That involves a lot of access control, state management and systems security.
Cursif Open Source project
I've been invited to participate in the development of an open source project. We're developing a simple, collaborative note taking app, without all the bloat that usually comes in the traditional note taking apps. The project involves techonologies such as Next.js, GraphQL, Elixir, Phoenix and PostgreSQL. The deployment is done through Docker containers.
